Workshop between CMMI, Pedagogical Institute, and Ministry of Education, Athletics, and Youth of Cyprus

We are thrilled to share the success of the recent workshop held at CMMI House on 21st of March 2024. The event, a collaboration between CMMI, the Pedagogical Institute, and the Ministry of Education, Athletics, and Youth of Cyprus, brought together 15 dedicated teachers from primary and secondary schools. During this event, Marina Loizidou, Assistant Scientist at CMMI and Project Manager of SeaTecHub, presented the SeaTecHub project, marking a pivotal step in advancing STEM education through collaboration and innovation.

Workshop Objectives:

The workshop aimed to foster collaboration in STEM education by sharing and discussing our respective work. It provided a platform to initiate ongoing collaboration, engage in synergistic activities, and explore opportunities for clustering within SeaTecHub.

Focus Areas:

  • STEM Outreach Activities: Strategies for effective STEM outreach to schools were developed.
  • Ocean Literacy: Participants enhanced their understanding and awareness of ocean science.
  • Impact on Target Groups: The workshop addressed the specific activities and their potential impact on primary and secondary school teachers, students, and parents.
  • Citizen Science Approach: We explored how citizen science can be integrated into our STEM initiatives to engage the community.

The SeaTecHub project is committed to continuing this collaborative effort to advance STEM education. Together, we can inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators!
