SeaTecHub at EMRA 2026, Lisbon

🌊 SeaTecHub at EMRA’26

The SeaTecHub project participated in EMRA’26 – the Workshop on EU-Funded Marine Robotics and Applications, held in Lisbon, Portugal.

EMRA provides an important platform for EU-funded marine robotics and ocean technology projects to exchange knowledge, present progress, and explore synergies with researchers, innovators, industry representatives, end-users, and policy stakeholders.

During the workshop, Alberto Sposito from the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) presented SeaTecHub and its latest developments, highlighting the project’s contribution to strengthening the research and innovation ecosystems of Croatia and Cyprus through cross-border, inter-sectoral collaboration.

The presentation focused on the progress achieved through SeaTecHub’s common strategy and Action & Investment Plans, the development of the CoRI – Collaborative Research & Innovation platform, and the project’s joint research and innovation activities, including smart buoys for environmental monitoring, an automated planktoscope, and a Marine Spatial Planning tool.

The presentation also highlighted SeaTecHub’s capacity-building, knowledge transfer, and outreach activities, including expert visits, innovation training, mutual staff exchanges, citizen engagement events, Blue Café activities, Citizen Clubs, Kids Think Blue, and participation in key networking and visibility events such as EMRA and Breaking the Surface.

Participation in EMRA’26 offered a valuable opportunity to share SeaTecHub’s progress with the wider marine robotics and ocean innovation community, strengthen links with relevant EU-funded initiatives, and explore new opportunities for collaboration beyond the project.
